2024 “All Hands on Deck” Community Partner Award
Padres Unidos received a Community Partner Award at the Orange County Department of Education’s “All Hands on Deck- Manos a la Obra” event. Vicente Sarmiento, from the Orange County Board of Supervisors, recognized the effort and commitment of Padres Unidos to create a welcoming space for parents to connect, leverage strengths and share their cultural wealth!
2023 Sunburst Youth Academy Appreciation Award
Padres Unidos as recognized for their Strong Families curriculum taught at the Sunburst Youth Academy in Los Alamitos. The Sunburst Youth Academy is affiliated with the California National Guard.
2020 Orange County Department of Education Community Cares Award
Associate Superintendent Dr. Christine Olmstead spoke at a virtual event to recognize outstanding organizations that supported schools, students, and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
2019 SPE Outstanding Book Award Honorable Mention
Padres Unidos was recognized for co-authoring a textbook entitled, “Let’s Chat―Cultivating Community University Dialogue: A Coffee Table Textbook on Partnerships.”
2017 Santa Ana Community Building Award
Padres Unidos was honored at the “Celebrate Santa Ana” event, which took place at the Heritage Museum of Orange County.
2014 OC Probation Department Outstanding Collaboration Award
Padres Unidos was cited for its parenting classes held at Orange County Juvenile Hall. The classes helped to strengthen families that suffered from a young family member serving jail time. It was noted that while the Probation Department had provided parenting classes in the past, the number of parent participants was much higher with Padres Unidos.
